Crack growth in Weldments under Creep/Fatigue Loading
The work in this TWA reviewed the information available on cracking of weld specimens and components at high temperatures. It is known that there is excessive conservatism in treating weldments and residual stresses. The work programme added emphasis to both the round robin testing as well as the predictive modelling and measurement of residual stresses in components.
