VAMAS TODAY

Plans are underway for the next VAMAS Steering Committee meeting.  The meeting is scheduled for June 12-13 in Montreal, Canada, hosted by the Industrial Materials Institute.  A primary topic on the agenda will be welcoming new member countries, assessing standards needs, reviewing TWA activities, and initiating new TWA’s.  The new VAMAS Memorandum of Understanding allows for the expansion of membership of VAMAS.  Interested countries should contact the Secretariat.

VAMAS and the World Material Research Institute Forum

are in the process of signing a Memorandum of Understanding that will encourage information exchange and possible joint work items between the two organizations.

New and Recent Technical Projects:

A new VAMAS TWA on Polymer Nanocomposites was recently approved to begin operationThe new TWA-PNC will focus on the technical problems in standardization of the new advanced polymeric materials modified by incorporation of nano-particles, lamellar or fibrillar, natural or synthetic. To achieve the objectives an international collaboration has been initiated with industrial partners from three continents.   See the following for a description of the first two projects to be undertaken in this TWA.
