Mechanical Measurements for Hardmetals
Hardmetals are widely used throughout industry because of their extremely good combination of strength and toughness. However there was concern that existing test methods for mechanical properties were not providing sufficient relevant information to allow their optimum use in a wide range of products.
New or modified methods were required to provide data which could be used for better design and materials specification and which could give results which were more consistent for quality control.
