Modulus is an intrinsic material property and a key parameter in advanced materials development and engineering design, and a wide variety of techniques exist for measuring it. In many cases international standards already exist, but it is becoming increasingly apparent that some of these are inadequate and there are significant issues that still need to be addressed to improve the quality, accuracy and reliability of the modulus measurements.

The main objectives of this new TWA are to address different modulus test methods and particular aspects of the tests, and to develop international collaboration with and direct input into the relevant technical committees for uptake into the relevant standards. This will be achieved by a series of well-focused technical projects.
